Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Strawberries are becoming quite rate, especially
in Europe. Which is a shame because they are very
healthy, containing a range of anti-oxidants that help
your body destroy harmful toxins. Besides that,
strawberries are a treat to consume, and add some
dipped chocolate and you've got yourself something
no one can refuse. Let's take a look what is needed
to create this delicious sweet recipe.
SHORT RECIPE
The ingredients
1 quart strawberries
1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chips
1 tablespoon butter-flavored shortening
1/2 cup shelled, chopped unsalted pistachio nuts.
Start by washing the strawberries and make sure they
are thoroughly pat dry. Put them on a paper-towel lined
tray while you get busy preparing the chocolate. Get
a double boiler and melt the chocolate and shortening in
top of the double boiler over simmering water. You will
need to get the chocolate smooth, so stir for a while.
Back to the strawberries - grasp each of them by stem
end. Dip about 75% of the strawberry into the melted
chocolate, allow some of the excess to drip off. Now
place the chocolate coated strawberries on a foil-lined
tray and right after that lightly sprinkle with pistachios.
The best way to do this is using one hand to dip the
strawberries, and your other to sprinkle the pistachios
over them. When you've done all of the strawberries,
put the tray in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets,
which should take about 20 minutes. Enjoy.
